Making last minute preparations for Airecon next weekend, where I am running a whole bunch of Talisman sessions. Saturday is going to be particularly intense: the first game starts at 10.30am , and I'm telling myself I'll be running Parkrun beforehand. First session due to end at 2.30pm, with the next session starting right on its heels. I have left myself a whole hour free before running the last 7.30pm game.
Across the weekend, and on the Saturday itself, I've offered up three different scenarios: The Dread Wyrm Egg Hunt, Marauders of Wheppersnade Cove, and Death and Never-ending Glory in the Infamous Dungeon of Inescapable Doom (DANGITIDOID). The variety is as much for my benefit as the players.
I must have run the Egg Hunt about thirty times now, so I have it down pat. Wheppersnade Cove is a new one, but it remixes my first attempt at a Talisman scenario (Are you going to Gladmeadow Fayre?) so I also feel relatively prepared.
DANGITIDOID is my untested attempt at cramming an epic dungeoneering experience into a 3-4 hour hour sitting. It is a bunch of scrappy notes, which I have a hunch will work through using the Talisman explore mechanism for dungeoneering. Fingers crossed!
I was going through the foes in Myths & Monsters to have myself a list of enemies and key stats (and crucially the page refernce) to be able to throw into the game as needed. LOVE the Zombie Knight. This enemy has a Green Kismet effect:
"Well-fought!": The character so impresses the zombie knight, that it immediately breaks free from its sorcerous compulsion and swears its sword arm to the character's service.
Stats for the Zombie Knight Follower follow. Neato! Spoiler Alert if you are delving in Harrogate this weekend: roll yourself some Green Sixes...
